In the beginning, there was "darkness."
Then, the "darkness" shed a "tear."
From that "tear," the brothers Sword and Shield were born.
Shield claimed it could defend against any attack.
Sword claimed it could slice through anything.
The brothers began a legendary battle.
At the end, both Sword and Shield shattered.
Sword became the sky, Shield became the earth, and the sparks from the battle became the stars.
As for the jewels, they fell to the ground and became the True Runes--The runes that all other runes were born from.

here goes my new ATC series :
this is the second series from my Megapixels series ( the first one being the cards that i sent for colorful kite swap )
and this is for fall theme swap organized by pauseability ( singapore ). there are 3 cards in this series. basically what i did is that similar to colorful kite, almost the same connecting background but the figure is enlarged. the first one is very small black figure falling, second being slightly enlarged and the last one is fully zoomed in. the character is from one piece, luffy. i drew it out myself and added a bit of modif. to its body, a trying out attempt to create a new technique.
this is the third of the Megapixels series. and their 4 cards in it. basically the same concept but this time around the background is changed into a dusk landscape with orangey sky color. this is actually to fit the theme FALL in two ways. one, the character, also from one piece, franky ( handdrawn ) is falling and at the same time, the color suits well to the fall season.
i really like the 3 series of megapixels as all gives a very realistic portrayal of things being zoomed in but at the same time, the background tricks the eye as they are actually connected. so the question of what is real and what is not is somehow, conveyed in this 3 pieces. lol
this is the last new series that i have made, titled Fire Stone. there are 16 in total but i might be making more. the first 13 are similar while the last three is slightly different, both in colors exploration and concept. basically the inspiration comes from the word FALL as i was preparing to make some cards for the swap. then i came upon used styrofoam from ym yellow ribbon project and since my 2d project i will be dealing with styrofoam a lot, i decided to use the styrofoams ad the base of my atc. the shapes vary but all still follow the 2.5 x 3.5 inch measurement. what im trying to achieve here is to gain harmony and balance, both in colors and shape. the leaves are representations of fall season which can be interpreted as decay and a process to death, to resurrection. this suits the fire theme as it links to the idea of fire being able to resurrects life, as inspired from the phoenix. thus, this work, being called Fire Stone, is very magical and fantastical as the term 'fire stone' itself appears a lot in many games and fantasy stories.
as in for the last three, i leave viewers to decipher the meaning themselves. however, despite of the process behind it, these cards are still ATC

i had fun making these cards over the weekend and actually im still working in one more series for the fall theme swap, titled October. :):):)
