an installation work for the yellow ribbon project. it was installed for the yellow ribbon guy to view. i took a lot of pictures actually but since this is a 'preview', will only post one. maybe should post more later HAHAHAHAHA. visually it looks good but technically, uhmm ... im not very confident about that
the title of the work is Reconnecting. basically it is about the inmates reconnecting themselves with their faith. i do not want to call it reconnection because reconnecting shows the ongoing effort done by the inmates, which someday it will stop because they will be reconnected with their life.
this is part of my school's portfolio, under the module drawing. the drawing is too big to be kept inside the file so i took photos of it then will print it out. i kinda like the photos because the house actually has a so-called exhibition light. YEAH. the irritating lights infront of the lift can be used as a displaying space. the lights can be adjusted and when it projects to the wall, it makes the drawing looks quite good ... hahaha :P:P:P
well, it was a fun session that day LOL
but yeah, the drawing itself isnt good ><"
one of my favorite works so far in ADM. titled Escape, it is a 4d work under the theme of derive. i refer alot to Oneika Russel's In the Night Garden. I really like the process of doing it and installing them at the same time. Honestly, i think i deserve an A for this HAHAHA but meridel doesnt like the idea os cutting and pasting. its okay. i guess as long as you are confident and like the work, also enjoy the whole process, you will learn the most. and indeed, i learnt a lot from this project.
poster project for 2d. it started out disastrous and completely entirely boring. but the end product is one of those which is satisfying. it is a poster, but at the same time you can see it as 'posterS'. the transparency background gives freedom to the posters to be placed under different kind of space or walls, making it a different poster. i havent finished taking photos for this but i will try to experiment floating it in water, etc etc. this was taken in class by yue han if im not wrong, it is placed on top of light box and i find that the effect is very very interesting. lol
last peak of the day, this is supposedly be a BOOK where we have to investigate and play around with the negative and positive space using black and white. this is my second 'book' and after a few rounds of experiments and attempts, i found out that this itself can be a very interesting display. basically, the 'book' which is consisted of a few sheet of cut paper forming different sections of a castle ( towers, gate, barracks, etc ) can be accompanied with a poster ( in the picture i used an MOS advertisement from I-S magazine ). by arranging the sheets in a unconventional way ( diagonal, upside down ) they actually go very well with the poster, resulting in a futuristic theme. love this a lot that i left it pasted on the display space outside the lift. hahahaha :P:P:P
okay ... things have been pretty busy but somehow i can handle them pretty well. decided not to go to play tonight, despite that i really want to go hahaha
now left with a few works and im quite excited to do final project of 2d
