at last blogger works just per normal from my comp :( havent been working properly s it did not allow me to post photos and videos :(

anyway a lot of things have happened since the last time i posted, which was in july i think. just sent my first sis took taxi to fly her back to seattle

went macau for short hols with family too, which resulted in missing the lectures, classes for 5 days :(:(:(
and the worst is i missed a lecture by felicia loh

it is not finished as it is part of a bigger project which will be shown in redTraffic museum during MAAD in 3rd and 4th october

come to think about shows, i will be participating in Art For Grabs at annexe gallery in KL. will be flying on friday, be there in the bazaar on saturday and sunday and coming back on monday
have been preparing the new works like mad, but sadly, everything has to be sold under rm100 which is around $40

there will be a larger show in december, part of the world's AIDS day program by AFA. 10 new works will be the main showcase and a performance during the opening night. things have not been finalised yet, but tentatively, opening should be on the 27th november and planning to let the show run til 9th January.

something random, i am eating take-away-ed turtle soup. and i have been drinking crysanthemum and ginseng tea. LOL. my life is so herbal and zen like now. HAHAHHAHAHA

anyway, today is HARI RAYA. should be going down to geylang and eat all the nice cakes HAHHAA ><"
but will have to document another show of the performance, this time around i will be doing it in hong lim park this afternoon

a not-so-surprising yet always-been-on-the-top-list news that konami has always hint to suikoden fans all around the world
konami has just signed the name Genso Suikoden on 22 June 2009. this means that a new sequel is expected within this two years although slightest hints and no screenshots have been released by the company.
many guess that suikoden 6 will be for wii ... or ps3
well, we just have to wait

anyway, things have been pretty relaxing for the past 7 days and ive been taking a great rest away from work. shaved my head skinnedhead, it really take a lot of time to shave it on a regular basis
but supposedly it worths the experience ... although honestly speaking i look rather ugly without hair hahaha

ah, i will be just 500m away from Yayoi Kusama's installation work. it will be up at the skygarden of orchard central mall. still remember 2 months ago when i saw her exhibition at shibuya. was damn excited and now, her work is on permanent viewing just 500m away !!!! *EXCITED*

also lady gaga will be coming down to this small tiny island for the second time and i am catching her at fort canning park in mid august. yipppeee. ~~ CONFLICT GAGA

have been working on a big project called Circuit Boys which will consist of installation of drawings, photography, video animation* and performance art
1 of the drawing is sent to japan, part of rin's travelling letter project
and 2 of the big drawings are for voting to be up for singapore art show

at last theres a break from the hectic projects that ive been working on for the past 2 months
a lot of efforts have been put in, but results are dissappointing. i guess in raising fund, number of manpower makes a lot of different

anyway, i was at hair for hope, manning one of the public education booth and i managed to shave nearing the closing hours
so im completely bald with no hair aftr visiting the hairdresser to skin the whole head
and i think im going to keep this baldness for the next few months
will be showing to sarah and haidar, how i look dang sexay without hair HAHAHHA

i lost 3 kg during the past few weeks and time to regain them back
have started to gym again after neglecting it for a week or so
skinny bald man looks ugly, but rather build bald man looks sexy hahaa

ah, ive been taking daily class as well
its very fun but will have to stop because of school

Lady Gaga will be in Singapore from 14th to 16th June but looks like the concerts are inaccessible other than invited guests :(

anyway, Soi Fon's bankai is released at last after a long painful 7 days wait. Jaikuho Raikoben is 'too heavy, too big and too flashy" for assassination. but looks like it is designed to kill in one hit, a major improvement from Suzumebachi ( kills in 2 hits ). Soi Fon shoots flashy beam towards Barragan, and as usual, we have to wait for another week to see what will happen to him

more on one piece, Ivankov has again become one of my fav character. LOL. he is just exceedingly funny

president's challenge project is really not only taking up my time, but also my health
it is crazy to do this big project with very few people and cooperation

folding is really not as easy as you think when you have to fold thousands of models
not only that, you have to choose what paper to use, cut the paper, determine the size
then you start to fold
and when you fold a thousand of say, dogs, imagine the process of putting aside the brown colored papers, cut them into smaller pieces, for 1000 times

it is enough to drive me mad

and there goes the task to do proposals, thinking of what to say on friday

a few weeks back, all i think about is the party that im attending this saturday
but now, that is alsmot at the back of my mind

i am really losing interest in keeping this project going
team mates are not supporting, and they are not helping

i think when it comes to do a social project, putting aside our personal interest should be the first thing we do
i will be sacrificing :

Sculpture Square exhibition
UOB Painting of the Year
and my works for House exhibition are on hold

while i am sacrificing this much, i dont see why my team mates are not
and to keep the project going, obviously putting more effort is important

results were out 20minutes ago and these are my ... rather disappointing for some modules

art history : C+
singapore society : C+
drawing : A
2D : B
3D : B+
4D : B+

Im very disappointed with 4D module as i really thought that i had done much better. 3D and 2D and Drawing are more or less expected although i was hoping to score another A for 3D, but B+ is along the line i suppose. Art history and singapore society are modules that ... i was aiming to get a pass. well, was aiming for Bs.

in the end overall gpa is 3.6, a 0.3 drop from lat sem's 3.9
:( didnt do as well as i though i will
but yea hahhahaa

well, next sem is gonna be a completely different modules so hope can do better

hahaha

well, things have been busy. since i came back from tokyo, all ive done is folding folding and folding
for the president's challenge.

AWARE, Association for Women for Action & Research was on the top of the homosexuality and gay rights discussion in Singapore for the past few days.
It might be a complete bias to come into any conclusion but from what I have understood, it is all seems too frightening

Penal Code 377A incident last year had given Christianity bad remarks and looks like it has just been worsen as a result of the AWARE saga.

It is political. religious. social

The thios and many others, some worth mentioning like jossie and chin, are the main target in this catfight, well, the younger thio ( although she isnt that young anymore, obviously ) also involves in another form of 'catfight'
As anti-gays, they claim that AWARE is leading towards pro-lesbianism and homosexuality. And being Christians who strongly oppose these kinds of lifestyle, or i should say, identity, they tried to correct AWARE back to its previous aim

spent the day with the K1 and K2 kids from the Childcare Centre NTU. Taught them simple origami after showing my works to the parents in the morning.
it was the earth day so after their trip to the NIE 'farm', we did simple projects with recycled newspaper under the theme of sea.
we came up with a lot of fishes that i was thinking of setting up an installation of a school of fish, but the kids wanted to bring them home

in the end, the school gave me an apple ( with a card attached to it decorated by the kids )

who says that suikoden tierkries is bad ? out of suikoden world ? and not interesting ?
it is actually one of the most telling suikoden series as it explains a lot of major plots and artifacts in the main series

1. True Runes = Chronicles
there are a lot of speculations and theories about True Runes being Chronicles ( fake or true ) with solid evidences and concrete explanations. im pretty much convinced about the idea and this leads to more and more theories

2. Viki and young Viki
the reason why they are not holding on to a same Star is fully explained. Viki doesnt equal to Young Viki as they are two completely different individual. They do not come from different time frame but from a same time. Viki might come from a world where young Viki comes from another. however, Viki is the Viki in s1,s2,s3,s4 and s5. this is supported by the fact that she seems to remember the events of the past wars. Again, refer to Chain, Dromon, Fereca, Xabax and maybe even Maybelle who remember slightly about their previous world due to time travel ( or world travel )

3. Leknaat, Zenoa, Zerase, Jeane and Eresh and Sphil?!
these are the people who dont seem to age, know things beyond the other sods, secretive nature and ... weird. Zenoa owns the True Chronicle at the end of the story of tierkries and looking at how Leknaat is able to read the future as a seer, it is possible that she owns the TC too like Zenoa. after all, both plays the same role in the war ( although Leknaat is not a sod ). This links back to how Zerase, Jeane and Eresh are related. Maybe they are people like the Scribes who know more about the Chronicles compared to others. Eresh too might be looking for a Gateway when she asked Faroush to accompany her all the way into the underground cave in s5.

at last, all final projects are submitted
these are the titles for the projects and how i personally feel bout them

Foundation Drawing : Superhero
personally, i like this work the best among all of my final year 1 projects. although qing only required us to make a sketch for the work, this is one work that i will definitely continue in the future. havent taken any photos for this but will update it at my temporary online portfolio soon :)

2D :
Basically 2D work has no title but it is a flyer with coloring pattern on it. First you will see a human figure but as you follow the numbers and add colors, he will turn into a werewolf. this actually a continuation of my 108 sod project where i give him the Tenbi Star ( Gretchen's and Killey's star ) and named him Apalagi. Basically, all the werewolves in the projects will be named after indonesian words.
Not very happy with the execution of the work but michael did mention that it can be further pushed as a bigger piece of work, as a fine art piece

3D : Being
Conceptually, i dont think this work is very strong but visually, i find this work is the most appealing. very much influenced by donna ong's works for colour scheme and the use of lights and dark spaces, this work is a so-so in overall. peter didnt seem to be very very impressed but hopefully i can score an a for this module.

4D : Baby's Breath 2
this project is a one-stone-kills-two-birds kind of thing because i will be using the same work for the exhibition at House in june/july. a very tiring and depressing making process, this work is really a challenge for me to create over 3200 flowers and arranging them. learnt a lot about arrangements and time frames from this project and i think this work too convinces me to continue the baby's breath project

however, i planned rather ... wrong because the wind was very strong and the candles werent burning :(

actually the 1 hour event was very inspiring, at least for me
imagine the whole world, with an agreement and commitment to turn off lights, giving the earth an hour break

im so glad that works have been going well
at least i managed to finish things that i wanted to this weekend

drawing is doing well, managed to get a sketch and turned out great
2d proposal is complete and i think the ideas r feasible and concrete
3d model is fantastic, hopefully peter will like it
4d proposal is somehow done and the work is in progress

painting class has been great as well ... though it wasnt really the one i wanted to paint
couldnt find the baby doll that i have so decided to draw a kid instead
either way, it will be quite useful for my future projects

anyway, im excited about house exhibition

Jakarta Biennale XIII 2009 : Arena

My trip to Jakarta unexpectedly turned out to be another ‘biennale-hunting’ journey, but not so quite like Belief. The artworks were scattered around Jakarta with three main venue, Senayan City (SC), Grand Indonesia (GI) and the Indonesia National Gallery (GaNas). The pieces at SC was already dismantled by the time I reached Jakarta so I covered the remaining two venues, not only to discover but experience the worth-remembering works under the umbrella theme of Arena.

‘Arena’ is divided into three sectors, mainly Zona Pemahaman ( Zone of Understaning ), Zona Pertarungan ( Battle Zone ) and Zona Cair ( Fluid Zone ). The biennale which started since November last year, shifted from phase one to three. It ends in late February and currently, it is in the Fluid Zone phase, with some works from the Battle Zone remains decorating the street of Jakarta.

I did not really see the Battle Zone but there is a room dedicated to the phase in GaNas where it provides visitors with documentation of all the works, I think, accompanied with photos and artists’ profile. It was the best section of the biennale as I really am very fond of some of the works. Basically, the works under this phase is scattered around Jakarta and many are billboard-based works.

Some of the works that I really like are Ami & Popo’s Awas Begal! ( Beware of Robbers! ) is a series of posters pasted on three dangerous sites in Jakarta. The posters are in the shape of motorcylists being chased or provoked by guns, gigantic hands. The message is simple but the approach is one of which I would like to experiment in the near future. Next, Restu Ratnaningtyas’ Menunggu Bersama Bubblewrap ( Waiting With Bubblewraps ) is another very unique and creative work, very much unexpected. The artist actually wrap the parapet in bus stations with bubblewraps which allow passengers-in-waiting to play and interact with the bubblewrap. It is funny, comical in fact but the idea is really original. Another extraordinary work is Cecil Mariani’s Hantu Masa Lalu Taman Menteng ( Ghost In The Past In Menteng Park ). She created another dimension at Menteng Park, which was originally a soccer stadium. With photos printed on transparency and hung in various spots in the park, it looks like viewers are able to see the past. Other noticeable works are Eric Widjaja’s Billboard Meleleh ( Melting Billboard ), Ismiaji Cahyono’s Grogol = …., Arterpaper’s Rawan Paku dan Tambal Ban ( Of Nails and Flat Tires ).

The Fluid Zone is a more focused and mainstream art which are exhibited in GaNas and GI. Artworks included are ranging from paintings to installation with emphasis on contemporary art. Artists involved are internationals with some worth-mentioning names like Donna Ong ( Singapore ), Craig Walsh ( Australia ), Herman Chong ( Singapore ), Sylvain Sailly ( Canada ) and many more.

Honestly, I was not expecting much from this biennale but some of the works really blew me off. But before that, I want to make some comment on the works of the three Singaporean artists. Donna Ong’s The Meeting is capable of creating the dark and ‘chuky’ mood, despite the not-so-wise choice of venue. The photography installation is not as strong as the 4 video projection on the background. The videos speak more than the table with photos and 2 table lamps because they give life to the work as a whole, especially with the movement and changing of gradient in the video. Interestingly done, together with the sound, the whole installation piece manage to evoke, at least, fighting urge in me.

Ming Wong’s Four Malay Stories is an old work, but very comical and funny. I think it was exhibited in NUS Museum but heck care, this work made me laugh and laugh. The artist acted as various characters and speaking in various tone and accent to create the four stories based on P Ramlee’s films. Very very interesting, a must see exhibition if it were to be exhibited again in Singapore. Thumbs up

Lastly, Sherman Ong’s Hanoihaiku. What to say ? I always against his work. Lol. But indeed, even in this international exhibition ( for him ), his works are … -sorry- boring. They are photography montages creating a inseparable tryphtic pieces. I like the idea of 3 photographs but when it comes to his work, I don’t think it works in aesthetic value. Moreover, this exhibition, to my opinion, is very much about Indonesia, especially Jakarta. But his work focuses more on Hanoi. Maybe a more photography person can relate better to his.

Back to the Fluid Zone, some of the grade-A-works are Craig Walsh’s Incursion 43:38:36.19N/79:25:19:89W. This work is amazing amazing amazing amazing. It is one of the most favourite work in this biennale, wait, in fact it is my no 1 favourite work in Arena! The artist projected an slow video of an aquarium cum flooded café with oversized fishes and lobster. I cant really describe the work very much in details but I did some recording and a lot of pictures. Will post them soon. But seriously, I am so googling his name after this. The 43-years-old succeeded in evoking fear and uneasiness in me when one of the giant fishes and me exchanged stares.

Eko Nugroho’s Cari Selamat? Ikuti Gajah Ini ( Seeking Salvation? Follow These Elephants ) is another good work in the biennale. Followed by Handiwirman Saputra’s Exterior, Inside View- Interior, Outside View. This work is pretty much simple and … empty but it spoke to me. Iswanto Hartono’s Mellow is another work which I can refer to. Kuswidananto a.k.a Jompet’s Java’s Machine: Phantasmagoria is an interesting installation and interactive sound media. Nadiah Bamadhaj’s Harus Lewat Gapura ( Must Pass the Gapura ) is a piece which I would buy :P:P:P Phil Collin’s dunia tak akan mendengar ( the world wont listen ) is one of the very few video art that I enjoy very much. Poklong Anading’d Casket (Untitled) is another good one. Also RE Hartanto’s Cold Memory II which installation technique can be learnt from. Roslisham Ismail’s Hi-S-tory which is SUPER BORING but the combination montage of real footage and graphic drawing really interests me.

Tawatchai Puntusawasdi’s A Bind Is Crying plays with perspective, another work which really pleases the eye. Thaweesak Srithongdee’s Strawberry which among my top choice. His drawing and painting collage ( not really a collage but a potential good collage piece ) is something which I can relate to, as I find that I share similarities in doing works with him. Vincent Leong’s Tropical Paradise which is anti-climax but I still kind of like his work. If you saw his work at Sculpture Square during the 2006 Singapore Biennale, you can somehow guess what his work this time around is, just a different template and colour. Wimo Ambala Bayang’s Belanda Sudah Dekat! ( The Dutch Are Near! ) is a series of photography works which I like, again another rare occasion. An no, it is not a series of nude or semi naked men !!! LOL Yason Banal’s Untitled/Again (Marienbad/Jakarta) which I like just because of it being an installation cum performance. LOL

Lastly, I would like to talk about Khairuddin Hori’s Jakarta Biennale Community College and The Secret Agents’ The Secret Lobby. Both works are works which are very out of ordinary during biennale. In the previous two Singapore Biennale, there are some similar works, which I cant remember the title or artist. To describe them simply, both works are installation of public spaces where visitors can use the space to do anything. Just sitting down or resting, to studying and drawing. The differences between the two works is only one. Where Khai’s work is inside the gallery, Secret Agents’ work is more outdoor, even though it is not completely outdoor. The latter gives lesser freedom as they provide certain objects for viewers to play with but Khai’s really throw the floor to the viewers. These two works are indeed interesting and somehow, I believe both have crossed the boundary of contemporary art. I wrote a note in Khai’s work ( on the whiteboard ) : Maybe it is time for contemporary art to cross all … boundaries …

Indeed, it is the time for contemporary art to cross boundaries, and Jakarta Biennale XII Arena has shown to go further. I enjoyed this biennale as much as Belief and Wonder and even though it is smaller in scale, some works really spoke to me and I have gained something to improve in my art making from this unexpected journey. Maybe if I have more time, I would hunt more for the public art under the Battle Zone phase !!!

talking about the last boss ... wow.. it was quite difficult actuallly .. my final party was hero, liu, marica and jayle. marica and jayle are permanent ( i dunno why ) and konami only leave you with 1 slot which i think, most people will include liu in.
the limit break power of the boss is ... destructive ... it kills marica and liu and leave hero and jayle with 10% hp. it took me quite a while to kill the .... lady with unicorn costume ... or something like that

but the bosses before the final was quite easy ... especially if you use the unite attack of hero, jayle, marica and liu. should be able to defeat every bosses in 2-3 turns.

oh yeah, WHY MINE ????

in this sober state, trying to recover from the unfocused night yesterday, i typed 'biennale 2009' in the yahoo bar. to my surprise, Athens Biennale and Florence Biennale have been added to the list. i clicked 'Athens Biennale'

it is only the 2nd year that Athens organized a biennale and the title captures my attention. HEAVEN is going to fill Athen's museums and art sites after DESTROY ATHENS did the job in 2007. the biennale is open on 15th June but the list of artists have yet to be published.

i went back to search for Florence Biennale. No title except for the information of the one week event that the biennale seems to be focusing on the award giving ceremony.

an of course, 2009 will not be 2009 without Venice Biennale with their proud 53rd year providing not only Venetians but people around the world with its majestic pavilions with world-acclaimed artists. ( it has always been one of my *ehem* ... to visit the biennale ). the title sounds plain : MAKING WORLDS.

Kobe Biennale's title for this year is WA. Very conceptual and zen as it may sound, Kobe seems to be bulls-eyeing on the philosophical issue. ><"

wow. and guess what. Jakarta Biennale 2009 takes art to the street. It's quite annoying really. The exhibition with the title ARENA will stretch its period from last November to March with a big focus on early February. the jakartapost stated "The event is divided into three sub-thematic categories; zona pemahaman (comprehension zone), zona pertarungan (battle zone) and zona cair (melting zone)."
Donna Ong will be speaking during the opening of the galeri nasional jakarta ( Jakarta National Gallery ) in early January. Seemed like I have missed the golden mandarin for the new year.
and the jakartabiennale.com doesnt seem to work ( i shouldnt be surprised )

back to the Singapore, BELIEF and WONDER have gone and artists ( especially locals ) are eagerly waiting for the team curator to reveal the next theme for the biennale in 2010. this year will be Singapore Art Show turn to take possession of the galleries and public art spaces and honestly, i do expect much from it as well, after a series of enriching art they had in 2007.

well, this year seems to be rather interesting as i will be anticipating a result in March.

got my hand on suikoden tierkries japanese version today and found out the entire tablet of destiny list

looks like there are some unexpected appearances and placement of the list
and to my utter disappointment,
1. there's no kelvin
2. there's no jeane and viki

so many different kind of races and tribes
the difference is very obvious like suikoden 3
but the races are just a bit too much
race : werewolf, monster looking machine, possum, a kind of tiger cat, horned men, two freaking bears?!
tribe : red indian, arabic, white robe, heavy knight, red shaman, white hooded, faces with lines?, fan users

and there's a boy who looks like Lulu :(

omg ... seriously, why with the super super many people with hats ????
i think this suikoden is very influenced by the arabic culture, amazing costumes though, quite like it but i find there are too many people with hats. and the new race, the cat tiger looking is weird, the bears is i dunno what to say , possum is nice but there are just too many, horned men too, the monster looking machine........ i like the werewofl though ... ehhhh wait .... does that mean Bob's race ?????

Mobile Garden : an origami project opens today and the opening reception's turn out was much more than i expected

there was a fire 4 floors below my flat this morning
was going to take shower then started to smell this burning smell
went around rooms to look out for it but found out that the smell came from the toilet
i thought it was mosquito spray or construction smell so decided to ignore
after that i went out

when i was at forth then my maid called that the 11th floor was on fire
i thought it was not serious but when i came back about an hour after that
from afar, the flat was already blackened by the carbon
the mirrors were shattered

About Mobile Garden
As an origami based exhibition, Mobile Garden will be showcasing various works by 2 artists, Kelvin Atmadibrata ( Indonesia ) and Rin Ioka ( Japan ). Works exhibited ranging from installation art, origami sculpture, time based art as well as interactive cum origami paintings. This exhibition aims to explore the concept of origami in ways that are uncommon and apply those into the work of contemporary arts. Opening reception will be on 23rd December and exhibition runs until 30th December. Gallery will be closed on Monday 29th and Christmas 25th December. Opens daily from 11pm to 7pm.

About the artists

Kelvin Atmadibrata, is currently doing his foundation year in NTU School of Arts, Design and Media. His installation works have gone public in exhibitions such as Yellow Ribbon Project Community Art Exhibitions 2008 held in November and Market for Artists and Designers held in June. Mobile Garden will be his first duet exhibition. His other works have also been exhibited in events such as ATC on Parade, Pameran Poskad 2008 and APPLE on Canvas. His main interest is in exploring the relationship between children and adults, what differentiate them and what are the parallelism between the two. Mostly conveying the ideas in installation works, he has been trying to further explore on various fields such as paintings and performance art

Rin Ioka is a full time kindergarden teacher who is an artist and a singer at the same time. Her band KaRinBa has performed widely in Tokyo and her works have gone national level in Japan. Her main subject matter is in exploring the idea of memories and how important to preserve them. She likes to combine all her three jobs into her installation works, creating a vibrant piece filled with craft, music and concept. Mobile Garden will be her second exhibition in Singapore, the first being Pameran Poskad 2008. She also does photography and clays as parts of her works which at times, she brightens them with found objects and readymates.

went to the opening of my art space and fill your walls gallery opening with carven yesterday and also for the APPLE on CANVAS exhibition
realized that the space is actually the former MOX bar
so now PLAY is surrounded by art space and art cafe since yakun is now replaced by art cafe
guess will be hanging out there quite a lot from now on

kenny, lets take the class next year okay

talked to chankerk that night and he gave positive comments on my works
really happy because he is quite a recognize artist
so for an amateur artist like me, i guess it was really a praise lol

finalised the works that im going to exhibit at forth
1. Cloverfield:vertical -> a dreamlike landscape experience
2. Amazon Lilly -> double meaning on 'women'
3. Baby's Breath -> a time based installation art
4. Construction -> a reversal process of paper making from trees
5. Chrysanthemum Tea -> a performance cum interactive installation art with origami paintings

Visitors during opening night will be able to see the process of completion for Chrysanthemum Tea work which is a continuation of the Tea series, from the first one Jasmine Tea Jasmine ( an installation of origami flowers, tea cups, jasmine tea and green pebbles ).

but wasnt as good as i thought it would be but i guess the organizer really put a lot of efforts into this ( despite them not gaining anything from this )

saw some artists works like donna ong's ( uhmm i was expecting much more from her ), upadhaya ( likewise ), ben cab ( 500bucks?!?!?!?! ), mje ( so tempted to get hers actually ), teruya ( good but 200bucks ... ><" ), beth tan ( i came back today, her works are all sold DANGGGG ).
in the end, bought roy's works ... the 5 postcards really touch me ... dunno why but they are among my fav

Re-connection : Yellow Ribbon Community Art Exhibition
opens today til sunday, 10am to 6pm
Botanical Garden, Botany Centre ( Tanglin Gate )

awesome paintings by the inmates I have to admit ... some of the works are really up there ...
i like a few in particulars but as usual, those works are expensive
should try and take a look at the works ... very interesting
and at the same time, catch my installation at the 2nd floor :P:P:P

spent the entire day setting up yesterday
was quite disappointed with some of the people there
hopefully everything's would have been completely set up by now

the atc on hand-drawn pokemon that i received a few days back
and these are the ones that i sent

today is the mark of a few ended work ... yellow ribbon, school exams. next will be poskad, (if im helping out) g2 exhibition, mobile garden, and a few atcs swap

had quite a terrible morning on thursday because i lost my atm card
more like my dad so i cant get it back unless he comes down to the bank ... luckily he will be here next week
but the afternoon and evening turns up great ... went to gym then headed to pauseability for atc trade
it was a great session ... more and more people turned up and guess what i traded almost all my cards and i received a lot a lot interesting cards back

from richard, i got 2 montages, 1 is a chinese woman and another is an indian man. the latter card is a unique card because of the technique involved
moses, i got a fall theme card, telling the story of the fall of humanity, adam and eve ... amazing card which i think, took hours to make
laura, i received 2 cards. one if a fall fairy ( fairy with fall ( season ) background ) and another is a witch showing her backside with the moon in the background. she calls it 3 moons ... lol
from rita i received a lootttt of origami atc ( so generous of her ) ... 2 popped out with whales and ship, 1 flat whale, 2 kimonos and 4 series of swap origami. hahaha but in return, i owe her 3 ATC !!!! ><" or is it 1 ? haha
from stephanie, i got a flower vase and a fall card. the flower vase is the one ive been eyeing for .. 2 months HAHAHA and the fall cardseems to have some secrets behind it hmmm
from caris, i got a cut out atc which i agree with etsy when she described hers as conceptual ... i just gotta have one ... so i traded with her and owe her 1 card ( which i will make by collaging my photo with a biennale work ) :P
ee wei, i got her 4 atcs of her own love story ... she's leaving for canada at the end f the year so i think these 4 cards can be very special ... hahaa
betsy, i got her cubist chinese characters ... it is her style and the card is one of her earliest exploration ... so glad i managed to trade it with her lol
lastly, i got a zentangle card from terrence ... zentangle has always amazed me in many ways ... haha .. it was his first time joining us and her cards are amazingly intricate :)

lets take a peak at kelvin's portfolio HAHAHHA

an installation work for the yellow ribbon project. it was installed for the yellow ribbon guy to view. i took a lot of pictures actually but since this is a 'preview', will only post one. maybe should post more later HAHAHAHAHA. visually it looks good but technically, uhmm ... im not very confident about that
the title of the work is Reconnecting. basically it is about the inmates reconnecting themselves with their faith. i do not want to call it reconnection because reconnecting shows the ongoing effort done by the inmates, which someday it will stop because they will be reconnected with their life.

this is part of my school's portfolio, under the module drawing. the drawing is too big to be kept inside the file so i took photos of it then will print it out. i kinda like the photos because the house actually has a so-called exhibition light. YEAH. the irritating lights infront of the lift can be used as a displaying space. the lights can be adjusted and when it projects to the wall, it makes the drawing looks quite good ... hahaha :P:P:P
well, it was a fun session that day LOL
but yeah, the drawing itself isnt good ><"

one of my favorite works so far in ADM. titled Escape, it is a 4d work under the theme of derive. i refer alot to Oneika Russel's In the Night Garden. I really like the process of doing it and installing them at the same time. Honestly, i think i deserve an A for this HAHAHA but meridel doesnt like the idea os cutting and pasting. its okay. i guess as long as you are confident and like the work, also enjoy the whole process, you will learn the most. and indeed, i learnt a lot from this project.

poster project for 2d. it started out disastrous and completely entirely boring. but the end product is one of those which is satisfying. it is a poster, but at the same time you can see it as 'posterS'. the transparency background gives freedom to the posters to be placed under different kind of space or walls, making it a different poster. i havent finished taking photos for this but i will try to experiment floating it in water, etc etc. this was taken in class by yue han if im not wrong, it is placed on top of light box and i find that the effect is very very interesting. lol

last peak of the day, this is supposedly be a BOOK where we have to investigate and play around with the negative and positive space using black and white. this is my second 'book' and after a few rounds of experiments and attempts, i found out that this itself can be a very interesting display. basically, the 'book' which is consisted of a few sheet of cut paper forming different sections of a castle ( towers, gate, barracks, etc ) can be accompanied with a poster ( in the picture i used an MOS advertisement from I-S magazine ). by arranging the sheets in a unconventional way ( diagonal, upside down ) they actually go very well with the poster, resulting in a futuristic theme. love this a lot that i left it pasted on the display space outside the lift. hahahaha :P:P:P

okay ... things have been pretty busy but somehow i can handle them pretty well. decided not to go to play tonight, despite that i really want to go hahaha
now left with a few works and im quite excited to do final project of 2d

in a week time, i will have JEANE figure !!!! konami made JEANE suikoden5 to be part of its Konami Girls gachapon
this is going to be my 2nd batch of suikoden figures, the first one being tir mc dohl, riou, nash laktje, hugo, chris lightfellow, geddoe and lazlo. i was so shocked when i saw the picture printed on latendo's catalog
it is gachapon so the size is going to be around 10 cm
small and for sure the quality is not super good
but this is a very very very rare that konami actually produces suikoden figures !!!!!

REMINISCENCE
at least i got my nami and nojiko chibi POP series
i went back and i display them together with bellemere

its one of the most touching story in one piece. bellemere is not nami and nojiko's blood mother ... she found them, almost dead. and she being a navy, a fighter, had left her motherly instinct long time back. they were poor, as they relied on bellemere's tangerine field. sometimes they even eat tangerines for dinner.
one day, the village was attacked by arlong pirate, the fishmen. everyone who wanted to live in the village must pay 1000beri for an adult and 5000beri for a child. bellemere only had 10000 berri at that time.
nami and nojiko were hiding when arlong found bellemere's house but since nami and nojiko are not bellemere's blood daughters, there wasnt any records pertaining them. they survived but they had to leave the village before arlong found out and killed them both, maybe with bellemere too. but it was very risky to send two young girls out to the sea by themselves.
at that very moment, after bellemere passed the 10000 berri to arlong, she said 'thats for my two kids'
nami and nojiko ran towards her, gave her a last family hug, before arlong shot her dead, in front of the two kids

to have the three figures in my room, its like freezing the happy times they had when they were around. it makes me really happy to see the three of them ... smiling .... i know it is just a story, it is just a comic or anime. but it feels really real. the drama, the tears, the action ....

went down to forth yesterday for the opening of an exhibition titled BodyPass
all three interesting artist, Nic, Aaron and Janice. Nic did 4 homo-erotic oil paintings.
saw a number of re-occuring figures and quite interested of they were to come down during my exhibition
justin also told me that before mine is this trevvy art charity thing so he hoped that that will get me some publicity ( as in general publicity )

was introduced to Zech's fren .. Annabelle if im not wrong and he was like describing my work to her

had a great rest day today after a pretty tiring weekend
went to gym for a short work out then was thinking about catching a movie but decided to go down to kino and artfren

while taking the ecscalator down from ff, noticed the new christmas tree concept for paragon
its a normal tree but almost entirely covered with huge hanging golden and silvery balls
!
i got my idea for my christmas tree !
instead of using neon lights which the budget can cost quite an amount, why not using the initial idea for one of my garden mobile
i was quite happy with the sudden enlightenment that i was smiling throughout my way down ><" hahaha

went to kino after that to find that kino hasnt started selling books about christmas tree design .. or maybe they dont sell it at all ... guess will be going down to borders to get the book
( now i know how much books can give you information and thanks to 2d projects, everything is referred from books )
was browsing around and i found this

i was quite surprised to find that as many think that origami is only a craft, not an art
i bought a book on LaFosse and found some proper art exhibitions on origami itself with various art forms ranging from installations to sculptural works. this is what i will be going in december and i guess this gives me a deeper insight on how can i improve on the exhibition

when i talk about art and craft, im reminded on this H3 art student who wrote in his/her blog about my craftholic article
this is what she ( i think she's a she ) says

"Then, when reading my craftholic magazine today (the issue on papercrafts). I read about Kelvin Atmadibrata who is an origami enthusiast. He says in the article that he makes art through craft. other than lafosse book, i also bought another origami book by robert harbin. quite an interesting and challenging book. these two are so far my 3rd and 4th non flower origami book that i have bought. and lafosse one is my first origami exploration book that i bought, means it doesnt only have designs but also articles about origami updates, paper making, etc etc. by the way, lafosse himself is a very good paper maker, and usually his designs are best to be folded with paper made by his own technique of paper making

another book that i bought is this art and design book by Fabiola Reyes. it is a collection of art works and designs ( mostly furniture and interior ) which are inspired from nature. it is a very interesting book ( but it cost me a bomb ) but i just have to have the book as there are so many things which i can learn from these people

ive been working with my 2d and had prepared quite a decent visual study on garden where i will be focusing more on vertical garden. quite an interesting project to come

after a long day of idling around, a good session of gym and an expensive shopping of books, i decided to 'reward' myself with a great dinner.

it cost me 17bucks but i get to enjoy a bowl of warm shoyu ramen, an uniquely three-quarter boiled egg and a small plate of chicken fried rice, and of course free flow of ice water. it was so good to enjoy such nice dinner and the restaurant atmosphere was really good. very cram but the noise and the seats everything add to the mood. :) had a super duper awesome dinner today lol

here goes my new ATC series :

this is the second series from my Megapixels series ( the first one being the cards that i sent for colorful kite swap )
and this is for fall theme swap organized by pauseability ( singapore ). there are 3 cards in this series. basically what i did is that similar to colorful kite, almost the same connecting background but the figure is enlarged. the first one is very small black figure falling, second being slightly enlarged and the last one is fully zoomed in. the character is from one piece, luffy. i drew it out myself and added a bit of modif. to its body, a trying out attempt to create a new technique.

this is the third of the Megapixels series. and their 4 cards in it. basically the same concept but this time around the background is changed into a dusk landscape with orangey sky color. this is actually to fit the theme FALL in two ways. one, the character, also from one piece, franky ( handdrawn ) is falling and at the same time, the color suits well to the fall season.
i really like the 3 series of megapixels as all gives a very realistic portrayal of things being zoomed in but at the same time, the background tricks the eye as they are actually connected. so the question of what is real and what is not is somehow, conveyed in this 3 pieces. lol

this is the last new series that i have made, titled Fire Stone. there are 16 in total but i might be making more. the first 13 are similar while the last three is slightly different, both in colors exploration and concept. basically the inspiration comes from the word FALL as i was preparing to make some cards for the swap. then i came upon used styrofoam from ym yellow ribbon project and since my 2d project i will be dealing with styrofoam a lot, i decided to use the styrofoams ad the base of my atc. the shapes vary but all still follow the 2.5 x 3.5 inch measurement. what im trying to achieve here is to gain harmony and balance, both in colors and shape. the leaves are representations of fall season which can be interpreted as decay and a process to death, to resurrection. this suits the fire theme as it links to the idea of fire being able to resurrects life, as inspired from the phoenix. thus, this work, being called Fire Stone, is very magical and fantastical as the term 'fire stone' itself appears a lot in many games and fantasy stories.
as in for the last three, i leave viewers to decipher the meaning themselves. however, despite of the process behind it, these cards are still ATC

the queue was one thing and it felt like there was a national gay conference where many seemed to be planning to attend it, and many did turn up, resulting in a massive crowd waiting enthusiastically from 9pm.

ok the main highlights of the night, at least for me were : the confetti, the balloon hahaha and also the laser

two new ATC for theme swap : Self Portrait

havent decided on the title but they will go along the main concept. whats the concept ? basically it was inspired by bleach. the enemy who are espadas have numbers imprinted on their bodies according to their rank. i started this project with no 10, the last arrancar, Yammy.
the first two ATC above are the same. the first one is front view while the 2nd is back view. i decided not to paste it on a white card board ( like what i usually do for my ATCs ) so that people can see it both ways. because of the water sprinkle, the image looks different on both side of the card. very interesting, coz i didnt know this would happen when i sprinkled water to blur the surrounding image except the number 10.
the third one is a simpler version but i think the composition is quite good. also the cut image of no.10 is distorted as i sprinkled water on it too.

how do i get the no10 ? well, i sprayed paint myself. lol. there will be 9 more to go but some are just bizarre. no.5 is the worst coz it is imprinted on the tongue. ><" was thinking of using hersey chocolate syrup hahaa

completed 7 more ATC. one is a series of 3 and another a series of 4. but i will post them another time. these two series is among my most fav series lol
and also did a series of styrofoam-based ATC. im considering to call them Fire Stone or something along that line but havent really decided. wil post them another time as well.

i just received my ATC return from the transparency swap
send 6+1 and i got back my 6 and all 6 are wonderful cards

these are the cards that i received ( sorry for the lousy scanned images )

and these are the cards that i sent

the 3rd card is a special edition from men and their insensitivities series ( i know theres no such word lol ) and i gave it as an extra to the host. the second one is entirely made of tape ( an experimental for my tape sculpture ) which proves to be successful. the building facing is from my 2d project, an extra piece of trial poster which i turned into atc :)

i also just sent 3+1 cards down to US for colorful kite swap
here are the three cards ( i didnt take photo or scan the extra card for host )

i used the extra broken cd pieces from 2d hanging mobile project and turned them into three rather conceptual colorful kite ... the way to enjoy the cards is that you have to hang it or paste it on the wall ( so that you can see that the 'kites' are flying ) and the cd pieces will reflect the colors, hence they are called colorful kites ... oh the title btw is 1.3Megapixels, 2.5Megapixels, and 3.7Megapixels

currently waiting for tarot card which is due end of november but ive sent the 3+1 cards ( i really love my cards for this ) and hand-drawn pokemon, another 3+1 cards which is due 31st october
im joining self-portrait card swap and add wings swap and really excited about this as i can AT LAST refer to cindy sherman's work for the self portrait HAHHHAA

this transparency swap is my 3rd trade and my 2nd international trade
first is the Singapore theme cards by pauseability and the second was joker cards from US
so far this is my fav lol

i went to Play yesterday with wei xiang and ivan
went to eat at maxwell before that and there was a fight between and uncle and an auntie vs another auntie
it was quite serious as one auntie started to slap the other auntie and the uncle started to scream around

we left before the fight ended so i ddint know what happen after that

it was the final for m:08, the beauty pageant thing
and it was fun to tease wei xiang about the no.10 contestant
we bumped into carven and gang
we were guessing who would win lah ... but out of the 10, our choice revolved around 3 which apperently, won the top 3 prizes
haha quite fun

the music after that was fantastic ... and i actually stayed until Play closed hahaha
first time sia ..
however, ive been preparing for milley cyrus' see you again and they only played it during the show ><" lol

before that i went to catch wizard of oz theatre work by Theatre I. it was supposed to be for kids but their portrayal of the story as a whole is very interesting
for me, it was like seeing wicked and wizard of oz at the same time haha
i really like the portrayal of glinda, who is A COMPLETE BIMBO and wicked witch of the west who is, not so evil after all
it was really good and the set design was applause-able ( is there such word ? lol )
not that fantastic as i thought it would be but they sure do a lot of works for the set
><" gosh, im supposed to be enjoying the theatre lol

im finishing up my works for yellow ribbon project hopefully by this week
going to meet carven later for december exhibition pr matter
then jon and aldwyn for filming 4d assignment

things have been quite on the line recently
projects are mostly almost done ( at least for next week )

preparation for december's exhibition is pretty fine
tho is quite rushy but i guess i can handle it just fine

school work, ...
3d is going on well ( a bit slow )
drawing is good
4d is somewhere there but i think my 1 minute video of self portrait is very lame
2d is exciting but not really sure if my ideas are relevant

the good thing is that, for yellow ribbon project, i have finished 2 out of 5 and today should finish the third one
left with 1 flower and 1 human. should be finished very very soon, hopefully before november so i can focus my time on december's and school works

pretty excited about the yellow ribbon project as the works end up looking pretty decent ... in fact they look good !!! hahah but one thing which worries me is how long it can last ... i guess the quality of my works are quite poor ... ><" budget and time frame is the main problem so it can be quite tough to come up with something which can last long with the inappropriate amount of those two factors
but i guess ive learnt a lot from the process of making the works, which until today i have not decided on the title

okay, for december exhibition, NO NO to these models

yellow ribbon project has been quite an experience for me ( though it isnt over yet )
went to the prison
taught the inmates how to fold some stuffs
and now, left with me and all these piles of works to be finished asap
the design is finalized but i havent really tried the light but i think, if my understanding is correct, everything will be just fine
i have been thinking about the title too, after all, a title is one of the important factor an artwork must have, whether it is untitled or otherwise.
and i havent decided on it ...

basically the concept is that in this installation, human is shown to be struggling to fight the misconception that the public has upon his/her through his/her faith.
but for the title ... ><" im pretty confused ... i want to have the works to be linked to nature, as i use a lot of plants and flowers to symbolize the result of humans' faith is growth and life. but i still do not know what to call the work ... ><"

i think i shouldnt be grabbing all the opportunities that i got ... these two exhibitions have already drained all my time and effort .. and not forgetting property ... ><"

but its kinda interesting too, i cant wait til the time when yrp cae is held, then forth gallery ( btw, i will be collaborating with rin from karinba , yes, she'll be coming down to singapore ), then january ..

have been reading one piece non-stop and this manga can really make me laugh out loud, cry, moved, disgusted, etc etc
the story of merry go really moved me a lot, and almost cried when the straw hat pirates decided to burn the ship down, after its last voyage. its a very touching scene where the pirates started to recall their experiences with the ship, each and everyone of them.
talking about the characters, i like robin the most. she is supppeerrrrr cool. beyond description, she is really someone that ... i wanna become ... hehehe
i like luffy too, esp the way he smiles. luffy and robin's attribute with frankie's physical appearance. hmmmm sounds like a real hot guy to me hahaha

apart from the bussi-ness in life, honestly feel rather lonely .. haha

1. two tin characters spotted in the english screenshot ... they look like spooky japanese dolls ... they look to be archers and seem to be from a same clan ( duh, obvious )
2. another female character spotted and added to the characters list in the official japanese website. she reminds me of subaru from .hack/SIGN coz she carries a huge axe and she's wearing a so-called magician-like outfit ... interesting ... and from a battle shoot, the axe looks to be gigantic
3. another female character, a swordmistress ... i think she is marica's sister ( WAIT, IS THIS GIRL THE SAME GIRL AS I MENTIONED IN no.2 ??? )
4. a female old magician ... interesting outfit .. looks like summoner from fire emblem
5. looks like the item seller/ chemist will be an old man with a rather interesting dress like wasil
6. a chub spectacled man ... his name is po sumthing sumthing ..
7. a spectacled girl reminds me of rene ... name known but in japanese and i cant read and im still waiting for people to translate
8. a grumpy old man ... same about the name problem .. he's the one who is speculated to be the villain but somehow, now i doubt it
9. YES, at last 3 kobolds will be playable YIPPPEEEE and they are muscular (lol)
10. a richard+djinn with grumpy face character ... name problem ... but looks like a boring character ... i think hes gonna be taking perci/borus's star as he is shown with a 'twin' ( i think he's one of the characters which is speculated to be the villain as well, but duh, look, he has a 'twin')
11. a female character who looks like an older apple with -another- grumpy face ... she doesnt look like a fighter
12. a guy with red hair with big sword ... nothing much

official artwork of the hero is out .. as usual, a young boy who looks like a girl hahaha lol

more and more interesting characters are revealed ... famitsu told the story of the game ( not overall, i hope ) but im still waiting for people to translate the review ...

has been a while since i spend some time typing in this crappy blog ...

next week is my recess week
means theres no school but instead, im going down to changi prison for 4 days
will be guiding the inmates to create some paper flowers which will be arranged to form a certain organic shape with lights
it will be an artwork basically

apart from that, my recess will be spent worrying about december exhibition
consulted with rin and all, and i think we do have a common message in mind
basically it will be about garden, nature and their relationship to human's mind in triggering childhood's memory
but things might change and get altered in one way of another .. so yeah ~~~

and not to say about school works ><"

went to 2 biennale sites and so far, i think they really should have invited more artists to join ... the sites at south beach development was rather empty and there are numerous potential rooms to be used for installation works or display
some of the works interest me tho ... :):):)

then went down to marina square with ivan to catch a super crappy movie called disaster movie

and as usual, when we had dinner with keith and wei xiang at the foodcourt, we entered the gay-est place in the mall

singapore biennale 2008 opens in 4 days time

reviews have been rather positive, but can that be just to itch curiosity ?

as for my personal opinion, i dont think it will exceed Belief in many ways
however, from the artworks that have been reviewed so far, there are seem to be quite a number of interaction installation works. well, that captures me. interesting setting at marina development district seems to be a powerful tool for Wonder as well

in contrary, there are seems to be equally a lot of photography works and seriously they dont captivate me as much. but shouldnt judge the book by its cover, maybe the physical quality of the works will thrill me in one way or another

so where will i be at 11 september, the day Wonder begins ?
having 2d class in the morning, hoping that my a2 poster will be -somehow- comparable to the rest, will be going down all the way to pauseability to pass the atcs that ive made for the '9ine' theme ( if i manage to create some by then ), then dinner with parents for my sis' birthday
it doesnt sound as wonderful as Wonder of course, but yeah, thats my life, you see

maybe lets take a few days behind and look at the 9th and 10th September
Singapore Biennale 2008 opening will be held on those two days and with very lacking advertisement and publicity of both the opening ceremony and the actual 'international showcase of visual arts' itself, can we assume that the entire Wonder-thing is for the elite with connections and invited guests of the so-called artistic upper class ?

the international event as they may call it, will run for about a month or so but compared to the one week event of Singapore Garden Festival 2008, the publications are not even on the level of comparison. does this show the lacking of support of the art, being not so commercial compared as nature-related business which scope can be pretty wide ?

enough of my attempt in acting smart and being an art critic while deep inside of me, im still extremely excited about Wonder. Unlike Belief, I ill be completely aware of the biennale and i swear that i will not miss a single artwork this time around. Wonderful ambition for Wonder

im quite surprised that i can go all the way til 200 haha

i played my first Duel today and i won once ... well because that was the opponent didnt really attack much and gave me an easy time for my first few plays
maybe deciding to get m deck to be trap filled warrior deck ... but havent really thought about the pro and cons ... but i think im going to stick with warrior deck

i was browsing through famitsu magazine
( which someone was very kind to send it from japan ) HEHEHHEE :P
and came across a long article about ff13 ..
i had a very bad opinion about it, looking at its previous trailers etc etc
but i think i change my mind
im going to play it
the characters have indeed developed from ff12 .. which i didnt really like
and the role of summons seem to be very huge ... i've seen odin and shiva so far ... the look stunning esp shiva. she looks .. different and mechanical .. i mean she looks more like robot than a goddess
but since the game will come in ,. three different parts ? i think it is still too overrated ...
but hopefully it will be good when they finally release it in english ...

just came back from judo and its rather tiring ...
dropped by chinatown for supper at the fish porridge shop and had a fabulous century egg porridge with raw fish
as usual, a lot of gays

i took the mrt with some freshies ( in judo ) and we were so called bitching about the seniors
and agreed to a conclusion that there is a very sian faced black belt

had quite a great weekend ...

went for 3 combats on friday, sat and sunday
friday was the most fun coz rebecca was there ... and she even offered me to stay at her place in sydney !!! hahaha :):) really enjoy having her in the class ...
saturday was great ... sunday was oke ... but both darren and chris played this song .. which im trying to get the title but i couldnt ... teng teng teng teng teng teng teng teng teng ...

and guess what ! i saw daniel ( yeah the hunky pilate instructor ) twice in this weekend ... and both at cine ... ><" and adding to this, there are like many many many many ajs in cine ... seriously many ... and yeah many

went to play again on saturday night with daryl, rahman and farouq. hmm daryl was like eye-ing the guy-in-blue ... oops was it just daryl ? hahah
a lot of familiar faces around ... saw alex there too .. surprised that actually rahman remembers him

but play was fun on saturday, crowded but they played good musics ... at least those that i like :)

at last, konami is releasing a new suikoden sequel, titled SUIKODEN TIERKREIS
it is for nintendo DS and a japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has released a few scans about it

1. unnamed hero.
as usual, but this time around, the hero has a voice actor behind him so im expecting someone like kyril who will speak a lot unlike the freyjadour or lazlo. his artwork isnt so impressive as the previous heroes and him using a pole ( most probably ) is just boring .. can suikoden heroes carry sword as in like gigantic sword at least once ?
2. Jail
dont really have an comment about this character but he looks like a fist fighter ... which i may use as permanent party member
3. Marika
like Jail, she looks like a martial artist ... quite a boring character from the artwork
4. Ryu
he reminds me of raven from s5 and some character from naruto. boring ... if he is as good as raven, welcome to my future party, if not .. bah ...

ok, just went back from an art exhibition and action for charity at play
it was organized by the bear project .. which are singaporean bears and some of them apparently do create fine arts

im sorry if this is a spoiler but it shows 5 years after then, and susan was shown to be kissing this mike guy, who apparently, not mike delfino. i have no idea if they completely replace a new actor to play as mike or is it another mike, but the guy who acted as mike was the guy from queer as folk, brian
its very weird to see brian kissing susan, after you've seen him kissing justin for 50over episodes. so yeah, he is supposed to be kissing justin isnt he ? or wait, brian's supposed to be kissing kelvin.

haha yeap hes back for a week plus .. am not really expecting to see much of him, but i guess to know that he's in the same island, really comfort me in many ways ... hahhaa

was chatting with keith before this and he was showing how there isnt such thing called long distanced relationship in the rainbow community. he's among the many who give the exact same sentiment ... but im still fighting for it ... im not going back that easily

went to gym as usual and combat was pretty much the same, however it was still as fun ahahha

managed to get in contact with a guy who wants to aid me in the upcoming exhibition and for cae2008, managed to come up with 3 ideas ... but not pretty sure that these are good ... hahaha

went to school on friday for dancefest
its good to catch up with some people esp ms young and some other teachers
well, dancefest was quite an event and it was really a blast :)

went to stjames yesterday .. i think the theme was wonderland so they had this mushroom baloon HUGE HUGE HUGE one which you can actually step inside and bounce. i did. hahaha. it was tiring .. unexpectedly tiring
the song was rather disappointing at first but there was this chain of really really good songs including, HAHAHHA no one. miss it

o yeah on saturday ivan came over and i helped him decorating his bookin in and out book .. and guess what. the result was terrificly amazing .. is there such a pair of words ? hahaha

two new ATCs from the Wizard of Oz series. This time around is the coward lion and the tin man. the tin man is a bit blurry that's because the hose and the handler of the hat is 3d. so the scanner could not scan the face clearly. they can be combined as the background can be united. this wasnt on the initial plan but somehow, it is possible ... hahaha

trying to make the scarecrow and dorothy to be paired up also .. then the other 6 characters ... hopefully can finish by the time the parade is on :):):)

there's this website which found a screenshot of the new game, suikoden 6. unfortunately and obviously, it is fake and the people in suikosource are firing it with many many funny comments. here my take into it

the characters appeared in the battle are :
1. Sylvia, who is apparently a winger
2. Garland, who looks like an armored knight
3. Pesmerga, well, he looks like him but slimmer
4. Viki, with ponytails
5. Ted, in BROWN
6. Jeanne, one of the shot, shows her with a blue robe and blue hat

another battle shows these characters as well :
1. Garland, in different armor
2. Ralph, who is apparently a copy of Humphrey with gigantic sword
3. Kalvin, who is like a ninja with bows and arrows

some problems with the characters i must say are :
1. Sylvia, a winger. it is possible to have a winger in suikoden 6, since they have been missing for the past 3 games ( s4, statics, s5 ) but since the most probable setting for suikoden6 is harmonia, i find it quite unusual to have a winger, native to dunan appears in harmonia. i know they arentvery far apart but it just doesnt sound ... very correct .. of course konami may just add a new village nearby where the wingers actually come from, etc etc.
last comment : pretty belive-able and to have a FEMALE winger will be interesting, since we only get that granny in s2 so far

2. Garland, we can see him in two different armors, i think he would be the main character. a knight, very usual stuff. and seriously, konami is very very capable of doing things better than that. the main characters' name have been very bizarre so far. Tir, Riou, the remained unknown Fire Hero, Lazlo, Kyril, and the prince in suikoden 5 which until now, i cant remember his long name. And now we get Garland ? I was thinking that the next hero's name will be as wild as .... Kudtage or maybe Gaushd ( i just typed in randomly ). and him being a knight, please be more creative than that ...
last comment : i dislike the name, i dislike the job ... i still prefer the previous 6 heroes

3. Pesmerga, he is just too skinny ... i mean his armor is supposed to be bulky and instead of holding his sword with two hands, i think his is a one-handed sword ... and surely konami will give him better pose than that
last comment : he has never been my fav character ... people think that he is strong, but hey, my last party to fight the beat rune includes, riou, karen, millie, zamza, oulan and viki ... no no no. no pesmerga, no flik, no viktor, no mazus

4. Viki ... actually her pose is pretty well done but her hair ... theres somthing odd with that ... so yeah NO to this viki
last comment : viki has always been my fav characters, since she is playable in s2 onwards .. hopefully they bring in more interesting viki in s6

5. Ted, what the hell is Ted doing in s6 ??? Please, we already have enough of him and i do not think s6 will happen before s1 ... and if it does, why the hell is he wearing brown ??? his outfit in s4 and s1 never changes, well of course unless they have it before s4 which is very much unlikely ... ><"
last comment : i hate him in s4 .. although he is strong ... attitude loner

6. Jeane, how dare you turn the sexiest hot babe in suikoden history into lord of the ring's old geezer wizard. i will surely write petition letter to konami if they ever add more clothes on jeane than she already has in s5 ... she should be walking around cotton-less in s6 ... haa and please, dye her hair back to white .. she with pink hair just looks horrible ... no wonder zerasse wins over my attention than her in s5

7. Ralph ... my bet is that the creator seems to be a fan of humphrey ... maybe ralph is another version of mr mintz ? well, someone has to carry on the legacy of that huge sword right .. if im not wrong is it called Masamune ? but his armor looks like he's one of the mirages summoned by pesmerga or yuber ... or maybe he is yuber in disguise ? with masamune ... the thought shivers me ...
last comment : masamune has only been carried by a hot hot guy which is futch in s3 ... dont think konami is going to make anyone hotter to carry on the sword legacy HHHAHAHA of course unless, there are gigantic sword carried around elsewhere

8. Kalvin, is just like Kage and Kinnison combined together .. mm not bad yea .. 2Ks into 1K .. hahaa. it is interesting to see a ninja with bows and arrows but cant you make his outfit looks ... contemporary ? so far konami has designed awesome ninjas since s2. sasuke, mondo, kasumi, wataru, ayame, mizuki ( hottest so far ), akagi, raven. and now they might be back with kage and fuma ? ARGH noooo :(
last comment : ninjas in suikoden history are relatively strong but ... there are other characters which you cant resist to use them in battles ... so far, i only use mizuki and raven as my ;must' lists

so ... for seeing wise, well it is pretty obvious that it is fake but still, very amazing to see this kind of 'glitch' in the network ahhaa
hmm .. this makes me anxious about the release of suikoden6 and reminds me that i still have not played the wii games that i bought 2 months ago .. hehee
time to give them a wii swing :)

went for movie marathon yesterday ... haha
first movie was 21. it was good, very very very ... interesting? hahaha
i never was interested in blackjack or any card gambling but the movie really caught my attention

card counting ... quite an interesting concept, which i cant understand how it will guarantee a player's winnings. ><" understand how it works, the hi-lo system, plus and minus 1.
and at last, for the first time i can understand how to play blackjack. haha. 21

there's this quote where it sounds like dineydiney? making money or something ... i cant remember it correctly but i think the quote sounds pretty cute :)

watched it alone, and when i bought the ticket, only half of the cinema is occupied, then went i was already in, there was this group of people entered late and they took all the seats in the first two rows. never knew that the movie is pretty popular

and was quite shoked when i look at my handphone watch right after the movie. it was 2 hrs long and i only have 1/2 an hour break before catching red cliff with kenny. haha. red cliff was good ... but kinda draggy that i fell asleep in the middle ... i think for a lil while ...
the turtle formation was bizarre but the characters are, i can say, quite well-developed

romance of three kingdoms seem to be on the rise nowadays, with the ever popular chains of video games called dynasty warriors, the card game general's order, and various blockbusters movies like red cliff and the three kingdoms. im trying to remember the characters name but seriously, chinese names are damn difficult to remember ... hahaha
even i can remember the original shui hu zhuan's characters ... and romance of three kingdoms' have more ><"

hmm ... wonder what i should be doing today ...
maybe stay at home and finish the ATCs ....

hahaha i did 4 ATCs ( Artist Trading Card ) based on Wicked the musical

the first one is the ugly version of Elphaba and Glinda. They were hand drawn by me and coloured in pencil colour ( now get the messiness in the choice of colour ? ) HAHAHA
the proportion of the two figures are wrong as well, they are rather unbalanced in the body ratio to the head ... didnt bother to erase anymore as i was rushing to see the end product ( my badddd ><" ) HAHAA

i like the second one ... put more effort in them ( obviously ) but i copied the design from Wicked poster. they were made of cut paper boards and for Eplaba's face, I mistakenly found an unused cd cover where it shows a gradation from green to black.

trying to finish the series with Tin Man, Dorothy, Scarecrow and Lion :):):)

moses said that they were good :) and if i made enough of them, he wants them to be part of the parade :):) yey
doing ATC is quite fun ... haha .. though it can be tedious at times ... :):):)

oh yeah, for those who do not know what ATC stands for, it is Artist Trading Card. ??? Just like Pokemon, Magic:the Gathering, Yu Gi OH!!, etc etc, ATCs are cards ( by the size of 8.9cm and 4.6cm if im not mistaken ) created by ANYONE and we trade our cards globally, Usually there will be galleries and associations around the globe to organize a mass swap, in which we will send our cards ( according to the required themes ) then the galleries will do the swap for us. In Singapore, so far as i know, Pauseability is the only place where people meet to trade their cards and seriously, their cards are amazing :) Creative, unique and ranging from children's work to very detailed works of adults.
Pauseability too is having a ATC Parade ( basically an ATC exhibition ) at Pauseabilty ( TPY Lorong 1 ) in August. details will follow up later !!! Hehehe

went combat class today ... tiring ... my whole body is really aching now ><"

was at ICA building this morning ... urgh
first waited for around 45 minutes to find that my application was rejected
had to take a cab home, photocopy a document then cabbed back
waited for almost an hour plus the second time around then waited for like HOURS for the collection

i asked for 45 days but they only gave me 30 days ... well, bette than nothing though
it is just that im worried as if by 9th august i havent gotten my student pass, wonder how the situation is going to be

going for adm foc on 22nd to 25th
i think its going to be quite fun :)

was at a gallery near my place. somehow i felt intimidated but i had my confidence for the december exhibition. i think im somewhere on the right track but still requires a lot of improvement. not to overdo it but not to undermine it ... it has to be just right to make it a successful exhibition
just like mrs.lim said, it doesnt have to be a big exhibition, as long as it is successful

well, working really hard for it
considering to take up oil/acrylic painting class ... but the cost is rather high ...
